Advent Activities

Day 5 (December 21)

Verse:
Matthew 2:12 When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route,
for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.
Pray and Sing:
Ask God to give you sweet dreams!   Sing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Activity:
Make your favorite dish from your country of origin.

Day 4 (December 22)

Verse:
Luke 2:21-24 Days later, when the baby was circumcised, he was named Jesus,
the name given him by the angel even before he was born. Then it was time for their
offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child; so his parents took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. The law of the Lord says, “If a woman’s first child is a boy, he must be dedicated to the LORD.”So they offered the sacrifice required in the law of the Lord”
Pray and Sing:
Thank God for His best gift! Sing Oh Come all Ye Faithful
Activity:
Have a camp out by the Christmas Tree. Drink hot cocoa with all the fixings.

Day 3 (December 23)

Verse:
Luke 2:25-28 At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon.
The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the
Lord’s Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to
present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in
his arms and praised God for keeping His promises.
Pray and Sing:
Praise God for keeping His promises to you. Sing Praise God From Whom All Blessing Flow Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Activity:
Take your family in your arms and give hugs! Make graham cracker gingerbread
houses. You need graham crackers, container of white frosting and candy. Click Here to see

Day 2 (December 24)

 Verse:
Luke 2:29-32 Then Simeon said, “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people. He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!”
Pray and Sing:
Give God all the Glory, Honor and Praise!   Sing Go Tell it On the Mountain!
Activity:
Attend DeerGrove’s Candlelight Christmas Eve service at 11pm.

Day 1 (December 25)

 Verse:
John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Pray and Sing:
Thank God for this season, for watching over you and your family.
Sing We wish you a Merry Christmas!
Activity:
Eat breakfast together, cinnamon rolls, Kringle, Rye Bread or whatever is your favorite.
Then come to DeerGrove to worship together at 10:30am. The children will take
part of a special service during 33 club.
