Youth Ministry Weekly News – Merry December!

Merry December!

We hope the end of the semester goes well!

 

Looking Back:


JH-After a week off for Thanksgiving break, we explored how we might live, and love, by faith and not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7).  Sometimes loving others means that we have to be the person who takes the first step, and shows initiative, even when we’re not sure of the results we might get.  We got the opportunity to “take the first step” when we did the trust fall—and then celebrated December with milk and cookies!

 

SH-Where art thou, our dearest SH students?  What was supposed to be the last night of “Crazy Love” with Francis Chan quickly turned into Sunday Night Football at Applebee’s due to the overwhelming pressure and response of the two (male) students who came Sunday night.  We had an awesome time of fellowship, food, and football!  Go Vikings!

JH Journey- Sunday @ 4p-5:30p–White Elephant night!  (Bring a funny gift, wrapped, and less than $5 value.  There will be free food!  Bring a friend!)

SH Xtreme Impact-Sunday @ 6p-8p–White Elephant night!  (Bring a funny gift, wrapped, and less than $5 value.  There will be free food!  Bring a friend!)

CHIC:

If your student is going to CHIC, then please make sure that they already have, or pick up a registration from church, fill it out, and return it promptly to Tom. 

Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due on December 15th to reserve a spot.

Prayer: 

  • Pray for our CHIC fundraising efforts.

  • Pray for strength and endurance for students as they finish the last couple weeks of school before Christmas break.

 

  • Pray that students would be bold and courageous in their schools as they represent Christ and witness to their peers through the love of God.

  • Pray that young people would feel safe and at home at DeerGrove; that relationships would develop and go deep, and that we all might come to know the amazing love of God better each day and week of our lives!
