Children’s Ministry Director Job Description

 

DeerGrove Covenant Church is seeking an individual to lead our thriving children’s ministry program. This individual will partner with and lead our existing team of children’s ministry volunteers. We are looking for someone who has a strong relationship with Jesus and is passionate about making faith formation fun for the kids at DeerGrove. This is a highly relational position, and we are looking for someone who desires to build strong relationships with our kids, families, congregation, and community. Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and lead our Children’s Ministry Programs that meet during the Sunday morning worship service at 10:30AM

• Recruit and Train volunteers to work in the nursery and lead the classes for ages 4-12

• Build strong and nurturing relationships with the kids and parents of the church

• Create or choose age-appropriate Bible based curriculum

• Provide weekly lesson plans to volunteers

• Partner with Lead pastor in coordinating a monthly intergenerational Sunday service

• Coordinate a quarterly family event or community outreach event

• Implement our children’s safety policies

Qualifications:

• Strong Relationship with Jesus

• Strong Relational, Communication, & Organizational Skills

• Working knowledge of the Bible and core theological truths

• Ability to lead and coordinate a team of 10 or more volunteers

• 1 Year of prior volunteer or work experience in Children's ministry or a related field

Hours: 10-15 hours per week
